My active learning journey

Welcome to the "Active Learning Journey" page of my Employability Skills Portfolio. Here, I demonstrate my commitment to continuous learning, adaptability, and the proactive pursuit of knowledge. Explore how I embrace new challenges and grow through experience.

Seeking new information and skills

A good example of continuous learning was when I needed to create my employability portfolio website as part of my university studies. Although I had limited experience in website design, I actively researched online tutorials and learned how to use web development tools and website-building platforms. I spent time exploring different features, testing layouts, and improving the content of my portfolio. As a result, I successfully created a professional website that showcased my skills, achievements, and academic work. This experience improved my digital skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in learning new technologies independently.

Adapting to new information and feedback

During a university assignment and presentation, I received feedback from my tutor. I realised that I needed to improve the structure of my work and include more academic sources to support my arguments. I reviewed the feedback carefully, researched additional information, and revised my work accordingly. As a result, my assignment became clearer, more professional, and better supported by evidence. This experience taught me the importance of being open to feedback, continuously improving my work, and using constructive criticism as a learning opportunity.

Key evidence of active learning

One key piece of evidence that demonstrates my Active Learning skill is the creation of my Employability Skills Portfolio website. This project required me to learn new digital skills, research information independently, and apply feedback to improve my work. Throughout the process, I explored website-building tools, developed my understanding of employability skills, and reflected on my academic experiences. What stands out most to me is how I was able to learn new skills independently and apply them successfully to create a professional portfolio. This experience increased my confidence, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
